Haaland slots opener against Liverpool, becomes fastest PL player to hit 50 goals

Manchester City took the lead against Liverpool in a tightly contested first half thanks to an emphatic finish from Haaland, who continues to break Premier League records. 

The Norwegian striker received the ball inside the box after good build-up play from Nathan Ake, turned and beat Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker with a low shot to the far post to make history in the English top flight.

The former Dortmund player has become the fastest player to hit 50 Premier League goals, achieving the feat in just 48 games, 17 fewer than legend Andy Cole needed. 

The former Manchester United striker achieved the record when he scored his 50th domestic goal in his 65th official appearance, far more than Erling Haaland needed.
