Haaland and Odegaard break Slovakian resistance

Goals from Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard broke Slovakian resistance in the last quarter of their match on Friday and handed Norway a 2-0 win. The fixture was an international friendly played in Oslo. 

Neither Norway or Slovakia will play in the Qatar World Cup. Therefore, they took advantage of the international break to play a friendly and give new players the opportunity for international experience. In this match, the Norwegian coach took advantage of the chance to give Haaland some minutes after returning from a two month spell sidelined due to injury.

The striker responded. He did not feature too much during the game but every time he had the ball at his feet he posed a serious threat.

The Dortmund forward broke the deadlock and finished past Marek Rodak, who guarded Slovakia's goal for as long as he could.

Haaland opened the scoring in the 77th minute. He lost his marker in the box, ran onto a Kristian Thorstvedt chipped pass and cooly slid the ball first time past the keeper.

Four minutes later, Norway got their second. It came in the form of an Odegaard beauty. The Arsenal player received the ball from Mats Daehli, stopped it, looked at the goal to pick his spot and curled a fantastic shot into the top left corner. Unstoppable for Rodak.
