Guler makes statement for Real Madrid with rocket against Celta

Real Madrid took the lead through Arda Guler's stunning rocket just past the half-hour mark at the Santiago Bernabeu against Celta Vigo. The Tukey international was included in the Merengues' starting lineup, giving him a chance to impress Ancelotti after being limited to a peripheral role this term.
And he made sure to make the most of the opportunity, as he struck an unstoppable shot past Celta goalkeeper Guaita. It all began with a corner taken from short from Guler, who passed the ball to Vazquez nearby before receiving it back on the right-hand side of the box.
The 20-year-old took a touch to desorinate the opposition's defence and cut inside before opening his body to fire the ball into the top-left corner of the net. Mbappe doubled Real Madrid's lead less than six minutes later to give his side a comfortable two-goal cushion at the break.
Real Madrid are desperate for three points that will keep them in the title hunt with just four games remaining (excluding today's) until the end of the campaign. They trail seven points behind Barcelona, who were victorious in their away fixture at Real Valladolid.
