Guardiola left satisfied by 'big' victory

After their goalscoring exploits of late, City fans could have been forgiven for growing frustrated during a game which saw the visitors limit and stifle City's attacking threat.
The Ukranian Champions successfully nullified Guardiola's side in the first half but City eventually seized the win, despite seeing striker Sergio Aguero miss a penalty, thanks to a long-range effort from Kevin De Bruyne and a late second from Raheem Sterling.
Speaking after the gmae, Guardiola was full of praise for both his players and their opponents and desciribed the win as a 'big' victory.
"We made an extraordinary performance, especially in the second half. They play short passes, they make amazing build-up, they are a machine. They are well organised defensively," he explained.
"So, a lot of credit (for) our victory. We faced a team who demand a lot to beat them. It was a big victory for us.
"We didn't concede almost anything but it is a tough, tough, tough team to play, Shakhtar Donetsk, always," he added.
"In the last eight or 10 years, they were always in the Champions League. They sometimes arrive in the quarter-finals. It is always complicated to play against them, that is why I am so satisfied."
