Greenwood strikes after more than a year's goal drought

Getafe refused to leave empty-handed on their visit to Balaidos. The La Liga meeting started well for them after Borja Mayoral's opener in the second minute. However, the match was restarted by Bamaba in the 24th minute.

But they didn't give up even when Domingos Duarte was sent off in the 30th minute. It was just three minutes later when the Madrid side took the lead through Mason Greenwood.

The English striker evaded the home side's defence and got into the box to score his first La Liga goal from close range.

It was a milestone for Greenwood, as he was back on the scoresheet more than a year later. However, since 19th January 2022, the reality is that he has only played five games and four of them have been with Getafe.
