GOAL: Youngsters bag screamers as Arsenal dominate Forest

Arsenal lifted the curtain on their 2023-24 season with a win at Wembley, beating Manchester City for the Community Shield. With plenty of pressure surrounding their Premier League campaign, after letting the title slip through their fingers last season, the Gunners looked to open strong as they faced Nottingham Forest at home.
They pressed from the off, holding almost 90% of the possession in the opening 20 minutes of the half. Their hard work paid off not long after, as Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring.
Gabriel Martinelli was in fine form, as he twisted a ball between two defenders, meeting Nketiah on the left of the box. The 21-year-old brought the ball into the area and fired home a shot low off his right foot, beating keeper Matt Turner - making his Forest debut - in the far bottom corner.
The lead was doubled just six minutes later by another Arsenal academy graduate Bukayo Saka, who had been causing problems for Forest all through the half any time he got on the ball.
Getting the ball from Ben White at the top of the box, the youngster controlled it and hammered a curling shot into the left top corner, giving Turner absolutely no chance. The two Hale End products capitalised well on their chances to see their team in front.
