Gladbach put three past Bayern in 20 minutes

Despite the Bavarians star-studded squad, the hosts started like a house on fire. It was 3-0 after 20 minutes and the Bavarians were against the ropes in the one off tie. 

Inside the first minute, Kone opened the scoring thanks to an assist by Embolo to make it 1-0. That was a shock, but it was about to get worse for the visitors. 

Afterwards, in the 15th minute, Bensebaini made it two after Hofmann's pass to beat Neuer. Six minutes later, it was 3-0 after Bensebaini scored a penalty. 

In no time, Bayern had an uphull task ahead of them.  Embolo then added two goals early in second half to make it 5-0.

It is worth remembering that Bayern were also knocked out of the German Cup at this stage last season. On that occasion they lost to Kiel on penalties, but this would be far worse.
