Gladbach open door to Zakaria: Barca on the look out

Zakaria's Gladbach contract runs until June 2022, but from January, the player is free to negotiate with any club to leave for free in the summer.
That is why Borussia Monchengladbach are thinking of selling him in January. If they do not and the player does not renew, they will lose the player in the summer for nothing.
Max Eberl, Gladbach's sporting director, has sent a message to his suitors."If he tells us he wants to leave, we'll let him go. Just like if any other player tells us the same," he told 'Bild'.
The board understands that it would be nonsense not to listen to offers given the fact his contract expires so soon.
That said, he said that they would not accept any offer, either for Zakaria or for any other player: "We would have to weigh up whether we would be better or not in the second half of the season with or without him."
Barcelona, who have had their eyes on Zakaria for around a month, are taking note of the situation. They are hoping for the odd reinforcement at the Camp Nou and Gladbach are reportedly willing to negotiate if they receive an offer from the Catalan capital.
