Girona striker Artem Dovbyk set to sign for Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid already have a replacement for Alvaro Morata. The striker's surprising decision to move on from the Spanish international caught the Madrid side by surprise, but they have made up for it in the last few hours.

The man chosen to be Diego Pablo Simeone's new No 9 is Artem Dovbyk. The Madrid club had put pressure on the Ukrainian striker in recent days and has finally got the player's green light, as reported by ‘Sport’.

In fact, the striker has already told Girona that he wants to go to Atletico Madrid so that both clubs start negotiating as soon as possible, with the aim of joining the 'Colchoneros' pre-season.

Girona have settled on the 40 million euros clause of their striker to let him leave, something that Atletico Madrid are not willing to agree to, as they are looking for part of the 40 million euros to be paid in variables.

According to the aforementioned source, the offer from the ‘Colchonero’ team to the Catalan side would be between 30 and 35 million euros plus variables to reach the 40 million euros that Girona are looking for.
