Gio Simeone's open wound

Every player always dreams of representing their country. It's the same for Gio Simeone, but last time out he couldn't make it happen.

His last appearance was against Guatemala on 8th September 2018, when he played the full 90 minutes and scored.

He got more chances against Colombia, Iraq, Brazil, and México, but all in friendlies. The player is still yet to play a competitive game.

He wasn't given that chance after being recalled to face Peru and Paraguay after Scaloni left him out and denied him his big chance.

He hasn't stopped scoring in Italy: twice against Torino, one against Crotone, and another one against Bologna.

This Saturday, Caligari welcome Sampdoria, and Simeone will want to be at his best to try and convince Scaloni.
