Getafe beat Barcelona to Altimira and will sign him for free

Getafe have beaten Barcelona to one of Spanish football's brightest young talents. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Getafe will sign Sabadell footballer Sergi Altimira. 

The 21 year-old midfielder will end up at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez as a free agent as the previously cited source reports that the player and Getafe have reached an agreement for Altimira to be their first signing of the 2023-24 campaign. 

That happened before Barca were able to bolster their B team, coached by Rafa Marquez. However, Sabadell asked for the amount in his buyout clause of 350,000 euros, but Barcelona refused to pay it. 

Now, just five months before he becomes a free agent, Getafe have got there ahead of the Catalans to sign a talented footballer with a bright future who could boost their midfield.
