Genoa and Sampdoria together for the Ferraris Stadium

Genoa and Sampdoria share one of the most famous intimate rivalries in Italian football. And from Monday, they will walk in the same direction thanks to the birth of the Genoa Stadium SRL project. United for the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

This was the joint statement: "Genoa CFC and UC Sampdoria officially announce the birth of Genoa Stadium SRL, composed in equal parts by the two clubs. The company will aim to formulate the offer for the purchase of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and its subsequent valuation."

The announcement comes in the run-up to Genoa's Coppa Italia round of 32 clash with Sampdoria. With Andrea Sottil's plan in Serie B, the feud is not as intense this season as in previous years.

A derby that will serve to promote a solidarity initiative to support the Giannina Gaslini Institute. All for the future of research and assistance in the Haemato-Oncology department of the paediatric hospital in Genoa.
