Galatasaray push back on Napoli demands in Osimhen negotiations

Napoli had proposed a deal involving €40 million paid immediately, followed by a further €35 million by 2026, as well as a sell-on clause—conditions Galatasaray have firmly declined.
Instead, the Istanbul side countered with an offer to pay €35 million by 2027, while rejecting the inclusion of any sell-on clause. The disagreement signals not only a gap in valuation, but also differing financial strategies, with Galatasaray taking a longer-term approach to spread the cost of what would be a landmark signing.
The stand-off comes amid the player's well-known €75 million release clause, set in his original 2020 contract with Napoli. While that clause provides a framework for talks, the structure and timing of payments—as well as future profit considerations—remain the key sticking points between the two clubs.
Despite the setback, sources close to the negotiations suggest discussions will continue, provided the Italians are willing to revisit the financial structure of the deal. With Osimhen open to a move, both sides remain hopeful that a breakthrough can be reached before the summer window closes.
