'From Karting to Formula 1 in one day': Arteta praises Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri

Arsenal, despite another year of almost certainly missing out on the Premier League title, have once again produced some fine football and are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Gunners have been able to count on the emerging stars of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly this season. Both 18-year-olds were out of Arteta's reckoning last season but have been of great assistance to the London outfit this season, with the England midfielder even earning his first call-up to the Three Lions' senior squad.
While Lewis-Skelly has made 26 appearances this season, 16 of which have been starts, England attacker Nwaneri has been used by the Spanish coach 29 times, albeit only 12 times as a starter, scoring eight goals and providing one assist.
Ahead of the Premier League match against Fulham, Arteta praised the contribution to the team and the improvement of both gems this season. "Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are doing something exceptional, like going from Karting to Formula 1 in one day," he told reporters.
"They didn’t have any loan, spells, any experience in Championship… from the Academy to Arsenal first team football. That’s very rare, exceptional," he concluded.
