Foyth out of Barcelona's reach

Will Barcelona sign a right-back or not in January? That is the question which has been asked for months due to the lack of options which Xavi has in that position. Players who appeared good enough to fight for a spot such as Sergino Dest have ended up outside the manager's plans and youngsters such as Alex Balde have got ahead. That is why players such as Juan Foyth have been suggested, who is out of Barcelona's reach according to 'Marca'.
The newspaper mentioned the Villarreal defender in an article which goes through the possible signings for the Camp Nou board with regards to the second half of this season. As his contract is up in 2026, four year from now, his market value is just under £15 million, so it makes sense that the Catalan side will not be able to put an offer in for the Villarreal player.
What is more, the ex-Tottenham player could soon become World Champion with Argentina. Despite only playing a few minutes in the semi-final against Croatia, he has been part of Lionel Scaloni's squad, meaning he is one of the best in his country. What is more, he broke a host of records at the 'Yellow Submarine' last season.
Other than Foyth, there have been a lot of players' names who have been suggested to sign for Barca, such as Diogo Dalot, Thomas Meunier, Benjamin Pavard, Jeremie Frimpong and Wan Bissaka. The problem is the Barcelona board are having to manage a sticky financial situation, meaning they will have to search high and wide to find suitable replacements who can arrive on a free or for little money.
