Former Spurs goalkeeper Lloris could face Messi's Miami in Champions Cup quarters

On Tuesday, Los Angeles FC (LAFC), with a 3-0 first-leg lead, eliminated Columbus Crew in the round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup (2-1 in the second leg, 2-4 aggregate) to advance to the quarterfinals against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami.
The team that also includes Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba has a 2-0 lead against the Cavaliers. The second leg will be played on Thursday in Jamaica.
Uruguayan Diego Rossi, a former LAFC player, sparked Columbus Crew's comeback spirit early with a cross in the 10th minute for Jacen Russell-Rowe's early opener. Just before halftime, Rossi made it 2-0 from the spot.
LAFC relied on the quality of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and did not score a goal until the 96th minute, when Denis Bouanga made it 2-1 on a counterattack.
The Los Angeles team had several scores to settle with a Columbus Crew that, then with Colombian Juan Camilo 'Cucho' Hernandez as star player, defeated them in the 2023 MLS Cup final and also in the 2024 Leagues Cup final.
