Former PL stars have 'secret' Whatsapp group to play matches

Former Manchester United player Daniel Simpson revealed in an interview with 'The Telegraph' that former City player Stephen Ireland is in charge of a Whatsapp group to play matches in secret locations.

There are former Premier League players such as Lescott, Onuoha, O'Shea, Morrison and Drinkwater. The matches take place in secret locations. Losers have to pay a certain amount of money and if they do not, they are expelled from the Whatsapp group.

"People realised I wasn’t playing, and I think if you’re out of contract, someone will end up trying to recruit you," Simpson said.

"You get kicked out if you haven’t paid your loser’s fee, though! I miss being around the lads every day. I’ve not been quiet about that," he concluded.
