Fonseca is the favorite, but Newcastle takes things calmly

Newcastle is still working on replacing the recently sacked Steve Bruce. According to the British press, Paulo Fonseca is the favorte to take the job, after Newcastle reportedly reached an agreement with the Portuguese manager.

According to 'Sky Sports', Newcastle is ready to offer the 48-year-old seven million a year to manage the 'Magpies'. 

Despite an agreement being reached, Fonseca's arrival to the Premier League will have to wait. The media outlet suggests that he is yet to receive Newcastle's formal offer.

This is why, Fonseca, despite being Newcastle's first option, hasn't joined the team, as his arrival could take longer than expected.
