Flamengo to sign Emerson Royal as Wesley nears Roma move

Talks are progressing swiftly, with director Marcos Braz and sporting chief Bruno Spindel pushing to wrap up negotiations this week.

Emerson Royal is set to join Flamengo from AC Milan for a reported €9 million fee, with the full-back keen on returning to Brazil. The transfer would mark a significant coup for Flamengo, who have moved decisively in recent days to hijack interest from elsewhere.

Wesley, meanwhile, is on the verge of completing a switch to AS Roma in a deal worth €25 million plus add-ons. Once Flamengo secure Emerson's arrival, the 21-year-old will be given the green light to head to Serie A.

The plan is to finalise both transfers simultaneously, with Flamengo using Emerson's signing to fill the gap left by Wesley's departure. If all goes to plan, both deals could be sealed as early as Thursday.
