Firmino swaps Saudi Arabia for Qatar with move to Al-Sadd

Roberto Firmino is set to grace the Qatari League after finalising his move to Al-Sadd. The Doha-based club are reportedly paying around seven million euros to Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli SFC for the transfer of the 33-year-old Brazilian striker.
At the time, Firmino's arrival in Saudi Arabia sent shockwaves through the footballing world. The former Liverpool forward joined the exodus of European football stars heading to the Saudi Pro League. At Al-Ahli SFC he was joined by Riyad Mahrez, Franck Kessie, Edouard Mendy and Merih Demiral. Later arrivals included Gabri Veiga and Ivan Toney.
During his two seasons, the Maceio native made 65 appearances, scoring 21 goals and providing 17 assists, and was crowned champion of the last AFC Champions League Elite, where he was also voted Player of the Tournament, proving he remains in good form.
Firmino now lands in Qatari football to represent Al-Sadd, a club well-known to a wider audience, where the likes of Raul Gonzalez, Xavi Hernández and Santi Cazorla once plied their trade, and where the Barcelona legend began his managerial career.
