Fiorentina legend Celeste Pin passes away at 64

Fiorentina announced on Wednesday the death of Celeste Pin, one of the most important players in their history. The former defender was found dead at his home at the age of 64.
A close relative found the Italian and alerted the medical services, who were unable to do anything. According to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', the first investigations point to a possible suicide.
Celeste Pin (Colle Umberto, 25 April 1961) was a famous player who played for Fiorentina between 1982 and 1991, when he played in the UEFA Cup final against Juventus alongside Roberto Baggio and Stefano Pioli, among other stars.
In addition to the 'Viola', Celeste Pin also played for Perugia, where he made his debut, Hellas Verona and Siena. He also played 12 games for the Italy U21 national team. He retired from professional football in 1996 and was inducted into the Fiorentina Hall of Fame in 2022.
"President Commisso, his wife Catherine, general manager Alessandro Ferrari, sporting director Daniele Prade, coach Pioli and the entire Fiorentina squad join in the Pin family's mourning and express their sincere condolences on the passing of Celeste," the 'Viola' released in a statement.
"As well as wearing the violet shirt for many years as a footballer, Celeste was a lifelong Fiorentina supporter and always offered his support, both publicly and privately, and will therefore remain forever in the club's history," it added.
