FIFA open 'disciplinary' case against England for poppy tribute

"We can confirm that disciplinary proceedings have been opened on this matter," a FIFA spokesperson told AFP when asked about action planned after the November 11 match at Wembley.
The poppy is deemed as a political symbol, despite being worn to simply remember those who have died fighting in wars for the country.
England and Scotland players wore black armbands bearing a poppy when they faced each other last Friday, despite FIFA banning the "political symbol".
Wales opted not to wear a poppy, while Northern Ireland wore black armbands which did not bear the symbol.
