He just creates issues for the team. Ruben Amorim needs to empower him with confidence, I'm not seeing any of that with him," he told talkSPORT.

The former Arsenal defender believes that De Ligt is playing without confidence, adding that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim needs to address the situation.

Keown’s comments echo the sentiments of Scholes, who has also been critical of the player's performances. Scholes questioned the defender's development, noting that while he was exceptional at Ajax, he has struggled since his moves to Bayern Munich and Juventus.
