The country of Brazil continues to be inconsolable over the murder of former Sao Paulo footballer, Daniel Correa. The player had been playing on loan for second division side Sao Bento at the time. Correa was found beheaded and castrated in a forest, and now, as more days go by, increasing amounts of information are being revealed about the attack.
Edison Brittes is the confessed murderer, although he was supposedly aided in the brutal act by three other men, who have also been arrested. The other men have recently given a statement on the events, which have uncovered even more facets of information of how the murder took place.
David William, Silva and Igor Kin remained in the car, according to testimonies collected by 'AS'. However, a fourth accomplice, Eduardo, confessed that the entire group had indeed left the vehicle, with the intention of "castrating not killing the victim."
Eduardo's lawyer elaborated in further detail for the accused, stating: "They combined to carry out the castration of the victim. On the way, Edison was upset. He opened the trunk and they all reached out to hold Daniel, castrate him and leave it upside down. But instead, Edison cut Daniel's throat," he said.
Once he had murdered the former footballer, Edison Brittes requested that the others help him unload the body, but they declined: "He handed out several more blows to the neck, and one of the others felt bad."
