Everton could make Goodison Park new home for women’s team

Goodison Park could become the new home for Everton's women's team. According to 'The Athletic', the club are assessing the option of having the Women's Super League side play their home matches in the historic stadium as the men's team are set to move to the newly-built stadium at the start of the 2025-26 Premier League season.

Everton's new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock is set to be a big upgrade for the men's team with the seat capacity going up from 39,500 to 52,888. And their departure could represent an even bigger upgrade for the women's team, whose home ground, Walton Hall Park, only holds 500 seats and is located five miles outside the city centre in Walton, Liverpool. 

A potential shift to Goodison Park would be a huge opportunity for Everton Women. Not only would the stadium's location and size favour the team and fans, but also help to build a profile and increase appeal, thus allowing them to grow as a brand. Making the historic ground their full-time home would align with targets set by the new club owners, The Friedkin Group (TFG), who have vowed to invest heavily in the women's side.

In the Women's Super League, only Leicester City's King Power Stadium is shared between the men’s team and the women's team for all home matches, though Arsenal Women committed to playing 11 fixtures at the Emirates this term. Brighton Women are set to have their own stadium by 2027/28 after their proposal was approved in 2023.
