Everton confirm Goodison Park to become home of women's team

Goodison Park will become the new home of Everton Women as of next season. The Merseyside confirmed the decision to repurpose the use of the historic stadium as the men's team are set to move to the newly-built stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock at the start of the 2025-26 season
"Everton Football Club is proud to announce that Goodison Park will become the permanent home of Everton Women, transforming English football’s first purpose-built ground into the most iconic venue in the Barclays Women’s Super League", reads a statement from the club.
The stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock is set to be a big upgrade for the men's team, with the seating capacity going up from 39,500 to 52,888. The women's team will get to enjoy an even bigger upgrade current ground, Walton Hall Park, which holds only 500 seats.
A shift to Goodison Park is a huge opportunity for Everton Women to build a profile and increase appeal, and overall, allow them to grow as a brand. " After an in-depth review, The Friedkin Group decided that football must be kept at the heart of Everton’s community," Everton added.
Speaking following the announcement Everton CEO Angus Kinnear said: "We know how treasured Goodison is, not only to every Evertonian, but to the game itself, and being able to keep such an iconic stadium at the heart of the legacy project is something that has been incredibly important to us.
"From next season, we are proud to say our women will have an unrivalled permanent home in the WSL – another statement of intent as we look to build the foundations that will help us challenge for trophies."
