Paul Gascoigne is in hospital in Poole, where he now lives, after collapsing on Friday. The footballer was found unconscious at his home by Steve Foster and was taken to an intensive care unit in the English town.
Fortunately, Gazza is now out of danger, having improved over the weekend. In fact, he has been thanked by Foster himself "for the support he has received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him at his best".
The player's family was informed from the outset of the delicate state of health of the footballer, who will remain in hospital for a few days for a full recovery.
Foster is a close friend of Gascoigne and the chauffeur of the Newcastle legend. It was he who found him on Friday and drove him straight to hospital for treatment: "It's the best possible place for him at the moment.
