Emery to extend his contract with Aston Villa until 2027

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is set to renew his contract with the 'Villains' until 2027, according to David Ornstein, journalist of 'The Athletic'. The club are happy with the Spaniard and are showing it. The Basque also has the desire to continue. 

Furthermore, the owners of Aston Villa and Emery will hold a meeting in the summer to further extend the Basque's ties with the Birmingham club. The journalist also claims that the idea of the 'Villains' is to turn the Spaniard into their own 'Sir Alex Ferguson'.

Since he arrived at Birmingham, the performance of the English team has improved notably. Currently, the Basque coach has his team in fourth place in the Premier League, which means they are aspiring to play in the next Champions League. They are also in the semi-finals of the Conference League, the only British team still alive in Europe.

Emery joined Aston Villa from Villarreal in October 2022 to replace Steven Gerrard. The Basque was taking on the challenge after winning the Europa League with the Yellow Submarine. He has given a great boost to the 'Villains', who can crown the season with a European title and a qualification for the Champions League.
