Sevilla players Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho returned to Seville on Wednesday after the odyssey they experienced with Nigeria when their plane was diverted and held up for more than 15 hours at Al-Abraq airport (Libya).
After the incidents that forced the match to be called off, the winger and striker flew from Lagos to Madrid, where they eventually took a train to the Andalusian city.
Before the postponement of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, the Nigerian players and their federation denounced the "inhumane treatment" they were suffering as they were stranded, without explanation, at Al-Abraq airport "without telephone connection, food or drink".
Ejuke, one of Sevilla's two Super Eagles internationals and a key part of Garcia Pimienta's attacking scheme, said on his return to the Andalusian capital that they are "very happy to be back in Seville" and ready to start training on Thursday ahead of Sunday's visit to Barcelona.
