Deschamps annoyed with Mbappe's public whistles: "It shouldn't happen"

France coach Didier Deschamps said he was "disappointed" by the whistling against Kylian Mbappe during Tuesday's France-Chile friendly in Marseille and said it was "something that shouldn't happen".

"I'm going to be polite. The whistles for Mbappe are a disappointment, to say the least," Deschamps lamented at a press conference. He was alluding to the whistles that some of the fans at the Velodrome dedicated to the France captain for being the emblem of PSG, who are rivals of Olympique de Marseille.

"Unfortunately, I'm not surprised. Everyone knows the rivalry with PSG and, on Sunday, there is a match between the two," added the France coach, who was a player and coach at Marseille.

Mbappe's performance was a modest one, with 11 dropped balls out of 51 available to him, cushioned by his assist for Youssouf Fofana's second goal in France's narrow 3-2 win over Chile.
