Depay scores on Barca debut with penalty into top corner!

Memphis Depay made his debut as a Barca footballer in a pre-season friendly against Girona. The Dutchman left the pitch from the bench among applause from the fans to try and get match time as a Barca player. He looked very good, especially in the second half. 

It was when he asked to take a penalty after Mojica had been penalised for a handball in the box when Griezmann was trying to cross. The former Lyon player decided to take responsibility and try and beat Juan Carlos who should have saved the first penalty. 

In this case, it was not a goalkeeping error which saw Barca score. Depay hit the ball high to the goalkeeper's left and, despite get a hand to it, the ball went into the top corner. 

The goalkeeper was beaten by the power and the height of the spot kick and Memphis Depay got his first goal for his new club ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season.
