Dembele out of PSV clash

Mousa Demebele limped off early in the first half of  'Spurs' trip to Molineux this past weekend, and following tests, the midfielder has been ruled out of the side's Champions League match with an ankle injury. 

After the match Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino told the media: ""We need to wait today after the scan to have a better idea. The most important thing is he didn't suffer an injury to his bone. That is good. Maybe his ligament is damaged but we need to know - today after the scan we will know better."

However the scans confirmed the concerns of the 'Spurs' boss, as Dembele has been ruled out of their must-win match against dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven this week. 

The Belgian midfielder was in the midst of making his 250th appearance for Tottenham when he sustained the injury against Wolves, and posted a message on his instagram after the match, which read: "Disappointing to have gone off injured last night but proud to have played 250 times for this club."

Tottenham face an injury crisis ahead of the tie with PSV, as they will have to do without the injured quartet of Dier, Rose, Vertonghen and Wanyama. To add insult to injury, captain Hugo Lloris is suspended after being sent off in the reverse fixture last month. 

'Spurs' face a tough task in qualifying from Group B; they sit five points behind second placed Inter Milan, with only three games remaining. 

Manager Pochettino has admitted that it will be a tall order for his side to overcome this deficit, stating: ""This is the reality - we have a small possibility to go to the next stage. It doesn't affect us. We know very well we need to win tomorrow."
