Dembele has arrived

Last season, Dembele got off to the worst possible start, suffering an injury early on and finding himself out of action for much of the season. This time round, the story is different. 

The Frenchman has started like a train, the winning effort in the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla was not just a one-off, but a sign of things to come. 

He now has four goals this season, including that in Tangiers to go with three in the league. The two most important came on Saturday in the Anoeta and weeks back at Zorrilla, giving Barcelona the win against Real Sociedad and Vallodolid respectively. 

Reaching these heights, he has pulled himself alongside Lionel Messi, and has already equalled his goalscoring tally from the entirety of last season. 

While last season was marked by the amount of time he spent on the sidelines, it looks as if this one will become known for the goals he has scored. 

So far he's played 406 minutes, well on the way to topping the 1,129 minutes he played last time round. The only thing missing: assists. Last season he provided seven, surely they will come back soon.
