Deco arrives in Barcelona to negotiate new deal

Deco arrived at Camp Nou on Tuesday to sign his new contract as director of football at Barcelona until 2026, when Joan Laporta's term of office ends.

According to 'COPE', the Portuguese agent is not entirely convinced to sign for the Catalan club as he would have to leave his current job as a footballer's agent.

Barcelona's aim is for Deco to take over the role left by Mateu Alemany at the end of the season. The board are confident in his abilities to plan the next squad for the summer transfer window.

The same media outlet reports that the former Portuguese player already met on Tuesday with Joan Laporta, Rafael Yuste and Enric Masip to negotiate his new deal.
