David Nugent’s last minute goal gives Middlesbrough vital win over Hull

Aitor Karanka finally has some good news after a tough week after his sides late winner against Hull City.
After a tense meeting with his players last week, the manager's time on Teeside looked to be coming to an end.
The manager watched their defeat to Charlton from afar, however on Friday was present as his side kept their promotion possibilities alive.
Substitute David Nugent’s stoppage-time header sent Karanka and the rest of the Riverside Stadium into meltdown, securing a win that moves Boro second, four points clear of Hull.
“I think it has been the best way to finish the day,” Karanka said. “The day, the week, everything – I couldn’t have imagined to finish the game in that way.
“I told the players before the game that it was going to be a really emotional game because of a lot of rumours, a lot of things had happened, and we can’t forget that we’ve played against one of the best teams in the league.
It was a tough result for Hull, who dominated large parts of the game, and in all honesty probably deserved the 3 points. However despite coming close on several occasions failed to make an impact.
