Dalic to talk to Lovren over Ramos comments

The Croatia national team coach will have words with the defender after he posted a rant on Instagram about Real Madrid and Spain defender Sergio Ramos. 

In light of comments made by Lovren after of the Champions League final, in which Ramos injured Liverpool's talisman Mo Salah, there has been a long running feud between the pair. 

Lovren is expected to feature in the deciding Nations League clash with England on Sunday, but his controversial social media post after Croatia's late defeat of Spain this week has gotten him into trouble with his manager.

Ahead of the clash with England, Zlatko Dalic addressed the Lovren-Ramos situation in his press conference, saying: "'I will talk personally with Dejan, but that will stay between us and the squad. I don't want to talk publicly about this."

The post in question was a video, where Lovren repeatedly mocked Spain and their captain, and even suggested that he had elbowed rival Ramos in the head on purpose.

In the video, Lovren can be heard saying (in Croatian):" Haha! 3-2! Go ahead and talk now buddy. Buddy! They are a bunch of p******."

Coach Dalic was keen to move on quickly from the chat about Lovren; he turned the attention of the press conference to the upcoming match at Wembley. 

Whoever wins the match will advance to the finals of the Nations League, relegating the other. If the sides draw, Spain will advance; a scoredraw will relegate England, but a goalless draw would relegate Croatia.

Dalic is taking nothing for granted ahead of the match, despite not losing in the last two consecutive meetings with Gareth Southgate's side. Although he was keen to highlight Croatia's superiority in those matches. 

The Croatian coach said: "We beat them in the semi-final of the World Cup. That's the most important thing. Nobody can forget this. That was the most important result from the three matches.  'I'm more worried about our team because we played against Spain two days ago. Yes, we are probably tired, but I will try to get the best from my players."
