Cubarsi faces ankle injury as Barcelona await update

Pau Cubarsi, a central defender for both Barcelona and the Spain national team, picked up the injury during the Nations League match against the Netherlands. After leaving the Spain camp, his injury has now been officially confirmed.
"Tests conducted at the Joan Gamper Sports City revealed that first-team player Pau Cubarsi has an elongation of the anterior tibiofibular ligament in his right ankle," the club said in a statement.
The injury occurred during the Netherlands match, after which Cubarsi was released from the Spain squad to return to Barcelona, with the Catalans set to face Osasuna next Thursday.
He is now a doubt for that match, with the defender set to follow a conservative treatment plan. "His tolerance to activity will be reassessed in 48 hours to determine when he can return to full training," the club added.
If the injury keeps him out, it will be a significant blow for coach Hansi Flick, especially as Ronald Araujo will be returning from Uruguay just under 48 hours before the Osasuna game, following his international duty on Tuesday night.
