The UEFA Disciplinary Committee on Friday fined the Croatian Football Association 105,000 euros for incidents involving its fans in the UEFA EURO 2024 group stage match against Italy, in addition to the 115,000 euros it had accumulated from previous matches.
"The Croatian Football Federation was fined 105,000 euros for throwing objects (45,000 euros), lighting flares (30,000 euros) and inappropriate behaviour (30,000 euros) by some Croatian fans during the Croatia-Italy match in Leipzig on 24 June," the Croatian Football Federation said.
Croatia was already fined almost 88,000 euros on the first matchday and more than 27,000 euros on the second. All for the same reasons: lighting flares, throwing objects and inappropriate behaviour.
These figures exceed those of the Albanian Federation, which also received 3 fines, but whose total sum was 171,000 euros. In this case, the Albania fans not only replicated the actions of the Croatian fans, but also disrupted their matches because some of them jumped onto the pitch during the matches.
