Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the highest-earning footballer of 2024, bringing in a staggering £208 million over the year, according to Sportico.

The Al-Nassr star's income includes £172 million from his Saudi Pro League contract, keeping him well ahead of his closest footballing rivals.

Lionel Messi follows as the second highest-paid footballer, earning £108 million, with £60 million coming from endorsements. Neymar, Karim Benzema, and Kylian Mbappe also feature prominently in the top 10, reinforcing the financial pull of players in Saudi Arabia and Europe.

The Premier League's top earner is Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, who made £55.6 million, largely due to his £36 million annual salary. Mohamed Salah (£44 million) and Kevin De Bruyne (£32 million) are the only other Premier League players to feature in the top 100.

With footballers dominating the highest-paid athletes list, Ronaldo continues to set the standard both on and off the pitch, proving that his commercial and sporting appeal remains unmatched.
