Courtois remains with the group ahead of the Leipzig game

Real Madrid completed their third and final training session ahead of the Champions League last-16 second leg against Leipzig, with Thibaut Courtois in the squad and the only absentees being Eder Militao, who trained on an annexe pitch, and David Alaba.

As the Madrid squad carried out warm-up exercises and initial rondos in the presence of the media at the start of training at the Valdebebas training centre, the Brazilian Militao continued his recovery plan from the serious knee injury he suffered in the first official match of the season on his own in an annexe field.

Carlo Ancelotti left the group session for a few minutes to approach and talk to Militao, who is counting the days to return to the group dynamic. April is the month marked on the calendar for the Brazilian centre-back to take the last step in his recovery and the Italian coach himself has set the 16th as the target date.

Belgium's Courtois has already taken the step of returning to the group dynamic for a few days, having started training with his teammates as a goalkeeper in goal after the warm-up. Ancelotti finished making tactical adjustments and drew the conclusions to decide on the starting line-up, in which the two main doubts lie between the continuity of Aurelien Tchouameni in the centre of defence or the return of Nacho Fernandez, and the battle between Rodrygo Goes and Brahim Diaz.
