Cole convinced Hazard to join Chelsea

Joe Cole, 37, announced his retirement on Tuesday and Chelsea star Hazard told Chelsea's Twitter account how he convinced him to join the 'Blues'.

Hazard played his final season for Lille while Cole was on loan there in 2011-12, who told him about the Chelsea project.

Hazard remarked: "I spoke to him before I signed for Chelsea. Every day, seriously, he was telling me that Chelsea was the best club for me.

"He said Chelsea was a big club where you can win trophies every season. For that reason I signed, so thank you, Joe Cole!"
