Cillessen, serious doubt for the match with Madrid: came off with discomfort

Jaume Doménech will have to continue playing in goals for Valencia. Javi Gracia was trying with Cillessen as a starter in the pre-match training sessions ahead of the Madrid match in the league, but the keeper had to retire from one of the sessions halfway with a lot of pain, according to the newspaper 'AS'.

This source indicates that the discomfort suffered by the keeper made it clear to his face that the physique was letting him down. It doesn't look like a light injury and most likely he will not be in the next squad.

He would also remain out, perhaps, of the Netherlands matches. He is in the squad for the matches this month alongside stars like Memphis Depay. If the worst is confirmed, perhaps he will have to stay in Spain.

This is a hard blow for a goalkeeper who has not been involved in a Valencia match since 29th August, in a friendly against Levante. With regards to official matches, you have to go back to July 16th, about three months ago, when he played against Espanyol in La Liga.
