Chukwueze denies rumours of links to Real Madrid

There have been rumours flying for a while now about Real Madrid's interest in Villarreal's Samu Chukwueze. The Nigerian is under contract with Villarreal until 2024, but has yet to renew his deal.
This Friday, the Nigerian international gave a long interview to the specialist magazine 'Panenka'. In the interview, he discussed a number of issues concerning him.
Asked about his future, he was keen to set the record straight. "People are always going to talk. I'm only thinking about Villarreal," he declared, "I don't read what they put on social media. It doesn't matter. What matters is the moment. What if it's a lie? What if it's not real? I don't know. Right now, I don't think it's true. The only thing that is true is Villarreal".
Chukwueze also recalled his memorable performance at the Santiago Bernabeu last April. The Nigerian scored twice to help his team to a precious victory. "It's a dream come true. Who hasn't dreamed of scoring a goal at the Bernabeu? Well, I've scored two! It's historic for me and for the club".
Finally, the African striker showed his love for his club, even if he did not close the door on a possible departure: "Villarreal is one of the best in the world. They're my family. This club is in me. It's my home. Leaving would be very difficult for me. But you never know what might happen in the future".
