Chile's Claudio Bravo set Copa America age record in Peru draw

Old rockers never die, especially if they are important for their country. So it can be witnessed by a Claudio Bravo who broke the Copa America's age record when he played in his side's goalless draw against Peru.

The Chilean goalkeeper, at 41 years and 68 days, became the oldest player to play in the continental tournament, a record that had stood for 27 years.

Bravo, who was able to hold on for a goalless draw in the Peru-Chile match, surpassed Argentina-Bolivia goalkeeper Carlos Leone Trucco, who played in the 1997 Copa America final at 39 years and 322 days.

But the veteran 'La Roja' goalkeeper was not the only player to make history. Had Bravo not played, the record would have belonged to Paolo Guerrero, who came on as a substitute at the age of 40 years and 171 days.

The two were the protagonists of a match that had little football, little emotion and a draw that leaves everything open for the next rounds in group A of the Copa America.
