Chelsea youngster in contract stand-off

Nathaniel Chalobah's future is very much up in the air. The midfielder was one of England's best performers during the recent U21 European Championship in Poland but his club situation is more than a little bit confusing.

The 22-year-old spent the 2015/16 season on loan at Napoli, but he is believed to have grown frustrated with a lack of game time at Chelsea and is thus considering his options.

According to the 'Independent', much depends on whether Chelsea will offer him more regular football with the club or if he will continue to be a back-up player.

If the latter is the case then Chalobah will look for a new club and allow his contract, which expires in 2018, to expire.
