FT: Chelsea 6-1 Middlesbrough. Chelsea showed no mercy against Middlesbrough and booked their place in the EFL Cup final by crushing them 6-0. The Blues went into the break with the game wrapped up thanks to goals from Howson (own goal), Enzo, Palmer and Disasi. In the second half Mauricio Pochettino's side continued to dominate and Cole Palmer added a fifth before Madueke put the icing on the cake. Rogers managed to score a consolation goal for the visitors before stoppage time.
GOOOOOOALLLL TO CHELSEA! Gallagher receives on the left flank and squares the ball to the penalty spot after dribbling past Barlaser. Palmer, as cold as always, beats Glover with a clinical finish.
HT: Chelsea 4-0 Middlesbrough. The Blues turned the tie around in just 45 minutes. Pochettino's side punished Boro's poor defending and opened the scoring through Howson's own goal. Enzo extended his side's lead and just 10 minutes later, Disasi added a third before Palmer put the icing on the cake of a perfect first-half performance.
GOOOOOALLLL TO CHELSEA! Palmer steals the ball from Barlaser when Boro were playing the ball out from the back and the former City man beats Glover with a low effort.
GOOOOOOALLLLL TO CHELSEA! Disasi wins the ball back in midfield and feeds Cole Palmer, who finds Sterling on the left. The English winger squares the ball to the near post, where Disasi beats Glover with a close-range finish to the far post.
GOOOOOOALLLLL TO CHELSEA! Lovely team goal! Disasi plays a LOVELY one-two with Sterling on the left and finds Broja inside the box, who fed Enzo before the Argentinian pushed the ball into the net.
