Chelsea’s Colwill confident of domestic and European glory following world title

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has claimed that the recent Club World Cup triumph shows the team are ready to challenge for the Premier League or Champions League next season.
The young defender started in the shock 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, a result that crowned the Blues as world champions in the FIFA-extended global tournament.
Asked if Chelsea can build on this success to claim major honours, Colwill responded: "Yeah, definitely. I said at the start of this tournament that our plan is to win it and people looked at me as if I was crazy. So I'm going to say the exact same thing now going into the Premier League and Champions League."
"This is the biggest trophy I've ever won. I think the Club World Cup will be bigger than the Champions League and we were the first team to win it," he added. He believes the victory was a statement of intent and that, if the team keeps winning trophies, they will receive the recognition they deserve.
However, Colwill acknowledges that only time will tell if Chelsea are truly ready to dominate in England and Europe: "But we'll only know that in the future. I think we're ready and we'll see next season."
