Chelsea monitor Alejandro Garnacho again, close in on Xavi Simons

Chelsea, fresh from their Club World Cup triumph, are maintaining their active recruitment policy in the transfer market. Having already made seven signings this window, the London club are planning further additions, with Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho both on their radar, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking to 'DAZN', the Italian journalist stated that the Blues' priority is securing the services of the Dutch international. Negotiations are at an advanced stage with both the attacking midfielder and RB Leipzig, with the insider suggesting a 70% likelihood of the transfer materialising.
Just days ago, Nicolo Schira reported details of the operation, valuing it at €70 million, with a contract for Xavi Simons until 2032, including an option to extend for a further year (2033). According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal's only potential stumbling block lies in Chelsea's ability to offload players.
As for Alejandro Garnacho, the Argentinian, who has lost his place in the Manchester United side under Ruben Amorim, is being monitored by Chelsea, who could make a move for him later in the transfer window. The Italian journalist recalled that there were contacts in January, but the Argentinian international preferred to remain at Old Trafford. His desire is to stay in the Premier League, which is why he has turned down offers from Saudi Arabia.
