Chelsea accept €25m bid as Felix nears Benfica switch

Joao Felix could be heading home this summer. The 25-year-old is close to sealing a return to Benfica, the club that has shown the strongest interest in recent weeks, following an agreement reportedly reached with Chelsea.

According to Record on Wednesday, the Blues and the Encarnados have reached a verbal understanding over the fee, with only personal terms left to be agreed with the player himself.

Felix has made no secret of his desire to return to the club where he made his professional breakthrough, and a move back to familiar surroundings could offer the fresh start he has long needed. Since leaving Benfica in 2019 for a record fee, the Portuguese international has struggled to consistently live up to expectations.

The deal is expected to be completed by Friday, allowing Felix to feature in the Eusebio Cup against Fenerbahce on Saturday. If all goes according to plan, Joao Felix will finally be going home.
