"Cavani? I don't talk about those who aren't in my squad"

Edinson Cavani is one of the strikers most likely to end up at the Metropolitano, according to the latest reports. However, Simeone prefers to focus on what he has and forget about the rest. "I don't talk about players who are not in our squad," he said.
The Argentine admitted he was worried about possible departures. "We always keep an eye on what happens in January, the possibility of some players leaving and other joining. We will talk to the club about the situation we have. When there are movements, if there are any, you will find out," he said.
One of those who could leave is Thomas Lemar, who has struggled to adapt. "He has not been able to show off the football he possesses. He has characteristics which others do not have and that has always delighted me, but he has not been able to meet the expectations we have," he admitted.
That said, he had kind words for him. "Every time he was available to play, he has played more than the time he has been on the bench. Let's hope when he returns from injury, he plays well and we will see whether he can stay. The agents work brilliantly," he analysed.
As well as signings, 'Cholo' is fully focussed on the next game against Atletico. "Levante are dangerous, have competed well and we will have to play the game in the way we think we can hurt them," he pointed out.
Simeone asked for the support of the fans: "We need them, we want the stadium to be full. We will look to continue in the way we have been in recent games."
'Cholo' is in no doubt they can achieve whatever targets they set. "It's difficult to make a firm assessment, but there are new people who are excited to learn. Let's hope results are on our side and the team grows," he concluded.
